Often, nonprofits have too few employees to benefits from large group rates and may be in a remote area, limiting their access to service by providers. LANO’s size and geographic reach allow the organization to negotiate unique rates and/or services on behalf of its members. Group Brokerage provides individual and group health insurance throughout the state. With a knowledgeable and professional team, we represent all major insurance carriers, including Blue Cross Blue Shield of LA, United Healthcare, Humana and more.
The following products and services are available to LANO members:
- Competitively priced group Health, Life, Long and Short Term Disability, Dental, and Vision insurance for member nonprofit organizations with two or more employees
- Minimal-cost voluntary insurance products, including Limited Medical (Mini-Med), Cancer, Critical Illness, Disability, and Life insurance
- Competitively priced Health, Life, Long Term Disability and Dental insurance to individual members, member organizations with one employee, or to part time employees
- Personal interviews with each member employee upon request of management
- Spreadsheet comparisons of the various insurance plans
- Market research indicating the best plan for each nonprofit's particular needs
- Optional COBRA administration for member nonprofits with 20 or more employees
- Optional Section 125 Cafeteria Plan (for pre-tax premium payment) administered by one of Group Brokerage, Inc.'s professional alliances
Dental
As a special benefit to LANO members, Group Brokerage, Inc., has forged an alliance with the Louisiana Dental Plan, Louisiana's oldest and largest discount dental Preferred Provider Network (P.P.N.), to offer a unique menu of discounted dental and other healthcare-related products and services. The Louisiana Dental Plan (LDP) Group Proposal for LANO members will include discounts on specific high-demand dental, vision, hearing, certified massage therapy and cosmetic surgery options from its participating providers in more than 40 Louisiana cities; and on select prescription drugs and nutritional supplements from participating dealers statewide. Louisiana Dental Plan is a reduced fee Dental Preferred Provider Network (DPPN). Unlike traditional dental insurance, our program has no waiting periods, no claim forms and no annual or lifetime maximums. All individual members and employees of LANO member organizations will be eligible, with proof of membership, to apply for health insurance coverage and other offered products from Group Brokerage, Inc., and will be able to purchase the Louisiana Dental Plan at LANO's special rate of $24 per applicant, per year.
